The studio
Tropical Facial Therapy is a single treatment room at a private home in Verwood. There is no reception, no till, no next client waiting, and no music you did not choose.
That sounds like a small thing and it changes the whole appointment. Because only one person is booked in at a time, nothing runs to a turnaround clock. If your skin has been reacting to something and needs talking through, there is time. If you would rather say almost nothing and lie still in a warm room, that is absolutely fine too, and more common than you might think.
Every facial is built around your skin as it is that week rather than a fixed routine. Skin behaves differently in February to how it behaves in July, and differently again after a bad month of sleep, so the products and the amount of exfoliation are decided on the day.
Treatments and prices
Both treatments include a consultation, a double cleanse, exfoliation, a serum chosen for your skin, massage and a proper finish with SPF. The difference is time, a treatment mask, and how much of you gets looked after rather than just your face.

Products
Every facial uses Tropic skincare. Cruelty free, vegan, and made with plant based ingredients, which matters mainly because it means the formulas are kind to skin that reacts easily.
Products are picked at the appointment based on what your skin is doing, not decided in advance. Dehydrated skin, congestion, dullness and redness all want different things, and using the same four products on everybody is how people end up leaving a facial with tight, irritated skin.
You will leave knowing which two or three products actually suited you. They are available to buy if you want to carry the routine on at home, and if you do not, nothing more is said about it. A sensible routine using what you already own beats an expensive one you abandon in March.

The Mini Facial is £20 for 25 to 30 minutes and the Prescription Facial is £40 for 50 to 60 minutes. Both include a consultation, a double cleanse, exfoliation, a serum, massage and finishing products including SPF. The longer treatment adds a mask and a scalp or hand massage.

No. Every facial starts with a double cleanse, which is designed to take off make up and sunscreen properly. Come as you are.
The Mini Facial takes 25 to 30 minutes and the Prescription Facial takes 50 to 60 minutes. Allow a few extra minutes at the start for a short chat about your skin.
Usually, yes. Exfoliation can be lightened or left out, steam is not used, stronger actives are avoided and products can be patch tested first. Mention any reactions or flare ups when you enquire so the treatment is planned around them rather than adjusted halfway through.
Every four to six weeks suits most skin, because that is roughly how long surface skin cells take to renew. Calm, settled skin can stretch to eight weeks, while congested skin often does better at four.
